Mae’s POV
I wasn’t planning on telling Aaron about Omegas United today. I still might hold back the details. But Henry asked if I believe in Aaron enough to risk the lives of every Omega in Lacertia, and if my answer to that is truly yes, then I have no reason to lie to Aaron now.
Though I do note the delight I’m experiencing at the shock in Aaron’s eyes, at the knowledge that I was the one with the upper hand for once. It makes me feel smart, accomplished, and in control.
Aaron and I stare at each other silently. He must be realizing that my admission means I have some sort of power. I mean to reveal it to him and Henry soon – but not tonight.
I’m surprised by how long Aaron stays quiet, that he doesn’t ask about my power. Almost as if he doesn’t trust what he would end up saying.
My mind is pinging around a million different possibilities, wondering how this revelation might change Aaron’s desire to help us. “Are you afraid of me?” I finally ask.
“No,” he says quickly,
