I don’t know why but my heart was pounding and my palms were getting wetter by the second that we stood waiting by the door. On the other side of this door were some of Valeria’s strongest werewolves who stood oblivious to the ambush about to happen but I couldn't believe that they were so stupid as to not have a contingency plan in case something were to go wrong. They couldn't be so cocky that they drop all of their defenses thinking they are safe just because they’re in the Council- that would be absurd, especially after everything they did to Darian when he thought he was safe in the palace.
