Silvie’s POV
“Miss. Bates,” Someone called as they shook me. “Miss. Bates, we’ve arrived.”
I groaned and turned over to my side in annoyance. Whoever it was, they let out a deep chuckle. “So this is how you are when asleep, huh?”
At those words, my eyes snapped open from self-consciousness of being watched while I slept. I blinked groggily at the soft cabin lights. Slowly, the realization dawned on me—we’d landed.
Kyle stood over me, his arms crossed, an insufferable smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. “I was beginning to think you might sleep through the entire event. Impressive, really.”
I sat up, brushing loose strands of hair from my face. “Maybe I wouldn’t be so tired if someone wasn’t so fond of scheduling flights at ridiculous hours.”
He chuckled, low and amused. “A valid point, but you’re here now. No excuses.”
I rolled my eyes and stood, smoothing down my slightly wrinkled clothes. “Let me guess—now you’re going to critique how I slept, too?”
