Claude smiled, pleased with his parents' attitude. Olivia's mind, however, was focused on something else. She had heard from Claude that Mr. Muller's wife was a devout Catholic and very generous with her donations. This made her a potential client, and Olivia decided she needed to visit her. "Is Mrs. Muller not here with us today?" she asked. "Oh, she'd rather spend her time reading the Bible and praying. A party like this doesn't really interest her," Mr. Muller replied. "That's interesting. I've recently become more interested in the teachings of Christ, too. She sounds like someone I would love to learn from," Olivia said quickly. Mr. Muller was a little surprised but answered warmly, "I would love to host you and Claude sometime at our home. Come visit us whenever you can." "That sounds wonderful!" she replied enthusiastically. Claude knew what Olivia was trying to do and smiled to himself. He decided to be more direct than she had been.
