Tyler asked, "What did she say?"
"Phoebe?" Layla repeated his question, clearly upset. "Are you telling me you really don't know who it is? Do you not know who you're marrying?"
Layla was furious. She slammed the newspaper she was holding onto the table.
Tyler's expression darkened as he looked at it, but he didn't seem surprised. He put the newspaper down, looked at Layla, and asked, "Is there a problem with this?"
"No, but keep your happiness in check. Don't use it as an excuse to hurt others as soon as you get it," Layla shot back. "Who does she think she is? She's just engaged, and she's already acting like she's better than everyone!"
Tyler just let out a scoff. "If you came all this way just to tell me this, then fine, I'll apologize to her. Is that enough?"
Layla expected more of a reaction. She thought Tyler should at least respect Olivia, his ex-wife and the mother of his child. But he seemed indifferent.
"An apology? That's it?"
"What else? What do you want me to do?"
