ELIZA’S POV
Five days.
It had been five days since I left behind everything. My family, my pack, my life... my safety. I hadn’t eaten, hadn’t slept.
The constant throbbing of hunger and thirst disturbed me, but I ignored it, pushing myself harder with each mile until I could feel the exhaustion in every step and in every part of me.
I decided to stop by at a hotel to rest. I couldn’t carry on for much longer.
I barely recognized the face staring back at me in the reflection of the hotel’s entrance window. I was a thin version of myself. I was hollow-eyed and lifeless looking, as if the life had been drained from me in the pursuit of this one goal.
It didn’t matter. None of it mattered. Not the hunger, not the exhaustion.
All I cared about now was getting to the Blood Moon Pack and finding him.
The guards at the hotel entrance saw me before I could even step forward.
