Chapter 128
ELIZA’S POV
The training grounds were alive with movement and noise.
Warriors moved—punching, dodging, clashing swords, or sparring hand-to-hand.
When we got there, my eyes instinctively searched for him.
And there he was.
Alexander, in his black training shirt, was sparring with two of his elite guards. His movements were fast as always but as if he sensed me, he paused just for a breath and looked up.
Our eyes met.
His expression didn’t change. Not even a twitch.
Then, he turned away.
Without a word. Without a nod. He gathered his things and left the grounds.
My heart dropped.
My wolf let out a soft whimper. He saw us. He left.
I stood frozen for a moment.
Vivi noticed. “What was that about?”
I shook my head, swallowing the lump in my throat. “Nothing. He’s just… busy.”
“Hmm,” she muttered, narrowing her eyes.
Before she could say anything more, a shadow approached us from the side.
“Ladies,” came a smooth voice.
I turned to find Edmund, shirtless and glistening slightly with sweat.
