ALEXANDER’S POV
The castle’s corridors blurred past as I stormed down them.
By the time the maids passing by saw the look on my face, they stepped aside to let me pass, bowing their heads.
The only sound I could hear was the sound of my boots against the floor. It echoed in my ears. Every step was filled with anger. Eliza marched beside me.
Her face was filled with concern. Her presence should have calmed be but I was too far gone. Right now, I was a volcano about to erupt.
We didn’t knock.
I shoved open the heavy wooden door to Edmund’s quarters with a force that rattled the hinges.
He looked up from a scroll in surprise. His expression instantly tightened at the sight of me.
“Alexander?” Edmund stood, smoothing his coat. “What is the meaning of this?”
“What’s the meaning?” I said, moving forward. “You tell me, Edmund. Tell me why your sister’s been slowly poisoning my father under the guise of ‘treatment’!”
