Chapter 150
THIRD PERSON’S POV
The hot desert wind swept over the dunes of the Dune Kingdom, throwing sand into the air. Eliza went back to base to meet with the other scouts.
The base was filled with activity. Soldiers moved around quickly—sharpening blades, adjusting armor, checking weapons. The tension was thick. Everyone could feel something was about to happen.
“Back again, Eliza?” Sergeant Kael asked. His sharp eyes studied her with clear suspicion. “You keep disappearing into the dunes, then show up like you didn’t just vanish. Where the hell do you go?”
Eliza didn’t flinch. “I was looking round the perimerter,” she said smoothly. “There’s been movement out there.”
He scoffed. “You always have some kind of excuse. Just know this—traitors don’t live long around here.”
She gave him a nod and walked past him, even though her heart was pounding.
Just a little longer, she told herself. This ends soon.
