Chapter 48: The Plan
Eleanor and Olivia sat in a dimly lit room, the air thick with the scent of old wood and rich, dark wine. The heavy curtains were drawn, blocking out the morning sun and casting long shadows across the floor. The atmosphere was tense, the weight of their sinister plans pressing down on them.
Across from them, one of Eleanor's most trusted men stood at attention, his posture rigid, his face emotionless. His name was Vargas, a man who had served Eleanor loyally for years. He was known for his efficiency and his ruthlessness, traits that had earned him a place in Eleanor’s inner circle.
Eleanor leaned back in her chair, her eyes cold and calculating as she studied Vargas. “We have located Rachel,” she began, her voice smooth and controlled. “She’s a problem that needs to be dealt with. We cannot allow her to continue her investigation.”
Vargas nodded, his expression unchanged. “Understood, ma’am. What’s the plan?”
“The plan is simple,” Eleanor said, her tone leaving no room for error.
