Ever since she heard the words "Isabella is back," Charisse had mentally prepped herself to run into her — just didn't expect it to happen this soon.
It was New Year's Eve, and per tradition, time to put up the couplets.
Technically, everything in the villa could've been handled by staff, but Charisse thought it meant nothing if it wasn't done by hand. So she teamed up with Arthur Walton to decorate Elliot's villa — the one where she was currently living.
After the whole Clayton situation blew up and he left Draycott, Charisse scrapped the plan of sending her dad overseas. Having him beside her for the new year—nothing could top that.
She'd just hung a few red lanterns in the yard and was sticking the couplets—handwritten by Elliot—on either side of the carved gate.
Elliot's calligraphy had this bold, elegant feel to it. Charisse stood there staring, the more she looked, the more she liked it.
"His writing really does match who he is, doesn't it?" a voice said from behind.
