Chapter 296 Burden of Guilt
Outside the emergency room, the doctor took off his mask and looked at Emily's pale face on the hospital bed before he spoke to Mallory and Robert, who were standing nearby.
"She just fainted due to exhaustion and emotional distress. It's nothing serious. Let her rest properly. She'll be fine after she finishes this IV drip."
The tension finally drained from Mallory's body.
"Thank you," she said.
Robert gave a polite nod, his gaze falling on Emily's bloodless face.
He turned to Mallory and said, "You watch her here for a moment. I'm going out to make a call."
Mallory was filled with worry for Emily and couldn't think about anything else, so she nodded haphazardly.
"Okay. Go ahead."
Robert walked out of the ward and turned into the unmanned emergency exit at the end of the corridor. He leaned against the cold wall, took out his phone from his pocket, and dialed that number.
The call was connected quickly.
"Henry!" Robert's voice seethed with a monstrous rage. "You used Emily
