Chapter 42: Celebration Dinner
Sarah’s mood was neither bad nor good. She decided to eradicate the ambiguous emotions by cooking an extravagant meal. She was in the process of marinating the chicken with a plethora of spices when her phone started ringing.
She washed her hands and dried them on the towel before picking up her cellphone. She didn’t recognize the name on her caller ID, so she started with a basic greeting. “Sarah Mitch speaking, who is this?”
“Miss Mitch, we are calling you back about your interview at Colton Group.”
Sarah sighed despite the chirpy voice of the woman who had called her. The fact that she was receiving a response so quick was never a good thing. It was always a ‘sorry, you are not a good fit for our company.’
“I see,” Sarah said sluggishly. She pressed the phone between her ear and shoulder and returned to preparing the ingredients. She was not paying full attention to the call.
