My phone was buzzing; I didn't think much of it until I noticed Xavier's name appeared. I swiped it open, thinking for a brief text, but instead a picture appeared.
Boldly positioned at the middle of the frame was a mousse cake of green grape flavour. But the cake was not what got me interested. No, it was the hand in the corner of the image bandaged, somewhat reddened, and clearly burned.
My chest raced as i began to type a response.
