Chapter 388
Morning Time.
Goodwin Residence.
Juliana had left early for work. Around ten o’clock, a black SUV pulled up to the gate. The man who stepped out was strikingly handsome but had a cold, aloof demeanor. Dressed in black from head to toe, his presence exuded a commanding aura that instinctively kept people at a distance.
Emma was watering the plants in the garden when she saw the visitor. She walked slowly to the side gate and, without any warmth in her tone, said, “Mr. Jian, what are you doing here?”
Arthur, however, remained polite. “Good morning, Auntie. Is Juliana home?”
“My daughter won’t be seeing you—not now, not ever. You can leave,” Emma said firmly. The anger she’d felt since discovering the real cause behind her husband’s bankruptcy the previous night hadn’t let her sleep a wink.
“Why?” Arthur frowned slightly, confusion evident on his handsome face.
Had he done something wrong?
“Emma, shut the gate. And no matter what he says—ignore him,” came Guohao’s voice from inside.
