I stood in front of the mirror, staring at my reflection. My skin glowed from the countless facials and masks, my nails were perfectly manicured, my hair soft and shiny after hours of deep conditioning and careful styling. I looked like the perfect bride.
But I didn’t feel like one.
I may not be happy, but at least I’m pretty. That counts for something, right?
I reached out and picked up the bouquet—white roses, baby’s breath, and a touch of pale pink peonies. My hands were steady, but everything inside me felt like it was shaking.
Then my eyes shifted to my engagement ring.
I never really admired it to be honest cause who am I kidding, everything is fake so why bother admiring it however looking at it now, it looks beautiful.
The ring is like no other. The colour red and the way it gleam on the light.
Then, a knock on the door.
“It’s time, miss,” a staff member announced politely from the other side.
I gave a small nod, even though she couldn’t see me.
