When Yale did not work, they immediately switched to Harvard. Jerry thought the scammers were getting too creative.
The caller continued, "Mr. Clayton, the other university really isn't up to par... Your child is exceptionally gifted. He was the only one in Solaville who got a perfect math score. He'd be perfect for Harvard Business School!"
Jerry whispered, "Antonio, I'll give it to this scammer. They've done their homework. The Business School is one of Harvard's top three programs."
Antonio was in full-on joking mode, and he replied, "Sorry, but Stephen has already been accepted by another Ivy League school... What's impossible? Why would I lie? Anything is possible when you're dreaming!"
Then, he hung up abruptly. To their surprise, the first number immediately called back. Everything seemed so seamless.
"Damn it," Antonio grumbled as he answered. "Is it Yale or Harvard this time?"
