Katelyn’s POV
Jamie burst into my office with her laptop pressed to her chest. Her hair was out of place, her cheeks were bright, and her eyes were wide. She closed the door with her elbow and stepped closer to my desk.
“Katelyn,” she said, catching her breath. “I just heard from my friend on the police force. There’s a celebrity kidnapping.”
The word hit hard. Kidnapping meant real danger, not just headlines. I felt a bit tensed.
Jamie lowered her voice. “My friend told me where the kidnappers were last seen. If we go there tonight, we can film them. We can get the story first.”
I stared at her. “You want to go there on purpose? That’s dangerous.”
Her hands tightened on the laptop. “I don’t want to report after other stations, I want us to be first. If we get this, people will watch our station, not theirs.”
