Gideon came back to his senses, leveled an accusing finger at Cressida, and yelled, "What do you mean by 'yours'? Did we not give you everything you own under this roof? What else do you want?"
"It's something from my room," Cressida repeated. "That box I brought back from the countryside."
She wasn't looking at Gideon. Instead, she was staring solely at Natasha, who paled.
Helena couldn't stand seeing her staring down Natasha anymore and shielded the latter behind her back. "Stop being so overbearing. Natasha has been preparing for a concert lately and needed a quiet piano room. Your room has good lighting, so we cleared it out for her use."
She explained matter-of-factly, "You'll be marrying into the Strudwick family anyway, so you'll only be coming back to visit a few days a year. It's better than leaving it empty."
"So, you threw out all my things?" Cressida asked.
Helena frowned. "How could you put it that way? We moved all your things into storage. Every single item."
