Chapter 81 Something Doesn't Add Up
By the time Cressida returned home, Daphne was already asleep. She kept the lights off and washed up in the dark before slipping into bed.
Opening her banking app, she stared at the long string of zeros popping up on the screen. After a few seconds, she locked the phone and tossed it to the foot of the bed.
The next morning, Cressida rose early.
She pulled out a tailored suit she hadn't worn in years. After changing into it, she styled her hair into a neat bun in front of the mirror.
Daphne paused when she saw her. "Cressie, are you heading out?"
"Yeah, I've got something to take care of," Cressida replied as she changed into her shoes.
"Are you… going to see Dr. Leigh?" Daphne asked carefully.
Cressida's hands stilled for a beat. "No."
