Inside the room at the Emerald Cove villa, the heavy curtains barely left a sliver of light sneaking in from the afternoon sun.
Samuel squinted his fox-like eyes, his long fingers dancing over the keyboard with practiced ease. Just as he was locked in, a message popped up in the corner of the screen. His fingers froze mid-tap.
He clicked it. The smug, taunting message from Blackwing stared back at him.
That guy again.
Samuel clenched his fingers tight, a curse hovering on his lips.
Blackwing!
This damn guy again?
Does he have to stick his head in everywhere?
Samuel's fingers flew to the keyboard: [None of your damn business.]
Blackwing replied in a second: [Loser.]
Then—offline. Just like that.
Samuel let out a heavy sigh, eyes still locked on the tangled mess of code on his screen. Nothing was going right.
