#CHAPTER 168 The Real Maeve
Maeve’s POV
“You’ve been dying your hair this whole time?” Xaden asked, his eyes wide as he studied me. I felt hot in the face under their scrutiny, and I hated that they were all staring at me like this. I knew I should have told Xaden the truth about me, but I couldn’t find it in me to do it. Truth be told, I wasn’t sure what I would say. I didn’t have a reason as to why I died my hair since the day I was born. It didn’t make much sense to me either. The only person who really had those types of answers was my father.
“Could it be because of what she is?” Char shocked me by asking.
My eyes grew wide, and I stared at Xaden who was still studying me. Okay, so now I was certain they all knew something about me that I didn’t.
“I don’t understand,” I said, narrowing my eyes at my mate. “What are you talking about?”
Xaden turned to Char.
“Go help Maggie in the kitchen,” he demanded.
Charolotte’s eyes grew wide, and I could tell she wanted to deny his request.
“But—”
