Chapter 24

The next time Amelia heard news of Sierra again was during the afternoon a week later. Sierra had taken her own life. She had stabbed a pencil into her throat while the guards were changing shifts. It was an excruciatingly painful way to go, but she hadn't made a peep during the entire process. Eventually noticing something was amiss, the guards checked on her only to realize that she had attempted to take her own life. They rushed her to the hospital, but she had already stopped breathing by then. Amelia couldn't help but feel slightly sad over Sierra's death. She had once been so smug as she flaunted how she had stolen Matthew from her, and yet she had met such a terrible end. However, Amelia also didn't feel too regretful. After all, no one had forced Sierra to commit such heinous acts. She was paying for the consequences of her actions. Those who committed crimes deserved to be punished.
