Dexter held his boarding pass but hadn't started lining up when Jasper's voice exploded behind him. "Mr. Gardner! Mr. Floyd… jumped off the rooftop!"
"What did you say?"
"He said you insisted on going your own way, not caring about his family's fate, so…"
The boarding pass cut into his palm, the sting mingling with the metallic scent of blood spreading.
His phone buzzed again—a police summons, triggering Dexter's panic.
An employee's suicide wouldn't just damage the company's reputation, but it would also cause the stock price to plummet.
Most frustratingly, it delayed his departure again.
Jasper stayed silent on the other end, sensing Dexter's dark mood. After several tense minutes, he finally asked, "Mr. Gardner, what's the plan now?"
