Noah's voice was low. It was like he was afraid to shatter something fragile. He explained, "Regina jumped... and dragged Dexter down with her. She died instantly. "Dexter survived, but they say he's in a rehabilitation center on the outskirts of Caelondia. He can't even hold a water glass without help." Laura's lashes trembled. Hearing that name again—only to learn he was now paralyzed—was something she hadn't expected. It caught her off guard.
