I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock like a usual day, as though I hadn't just fought to get out of my pack and narrowly escaped by a hair's breadth.
I blinked, staring up at the ceiling for a while, trying to get my coordinates right after nights in the fish-white room where Draven kept me. It felt strangely weird to be back in my own apartment.
Grabbing my phone from the bedstand, I swiped through it quickly to see two other missed calls from Arash. Must have been really worried, I thought, throwing my legs off the bed to the floor. My mind flashed back to Mira. I needed an explanation. She owed me one after I saved her.
