Chapter 79 Bad News

I paced back and forth in the meeting room, waiting for the last of the men to enter. On the wall was the television—the national news showing reports from the hotel a few hours ago.
The second floor was engulfed with flames. Civilians were running helter-skelter, staggering to their cars half-drunk, hurrying to get out of the scene. It would be the next big crime, but at the moment, all of it was background noise. I could feel the rage boiling in my veins louder than it all.
As the last of the men stepped into the room, closing the door behind him, my head snapped up to face them. Six of them in total, entrusted with one important mission.
"So you mean," I began, my voice carrying across the room, low and angry, "you mean to say that not one of you could accomplish the task I entrusted you with?" I demanded.
A dry silence fell across the room. I grabbed the remote control from the table, turning off the television, glaring at each of them.
