Hearing that, Jason let out a soft sigh and gave a deep bow. "Stella, I mean it—I was totally wrong. I kept thinking I knew everything when I didn't know a damn thing."
He'd gone on and on about how Stella was in the wrong, but really, he'd just been parroting Charles's point of view. Now he knew—they'd both gotten it all wrong.
Stella didn't turn around. Her eyes stayed fixed on the still frame on the screen—little Charles on that hospital bed, smiling at "young Stella." A smile that was later given, undeservedly, to Isabelle.
"Just go," she said softly. "Tell Charles he better stay out of my life, for good."
She didn't want to see him anymore. Even if there were a thousand misunderstandings between them.
Sometimes, people just aren't meant to be. Too many wrongs, too many twisted truths.
What they lacked was trust. And without trust, what relationship could actually last?
Stella was done. Done with going in circles around that man. She was worn out, and honestly, it didn't even matte
