Chapter 17

Bryn's POV As night fell down upon the forest, Jake realized I was serious about sleeping outside. So, he didn't stay much longer after that realization, so I was left alone to sleep in the woods as I'd previously planned. I fell asleep under the shelter of the giant Oak Tree that seemed to tower over every other tree in the forest. Using the moss of the tree as my pillow and my blanket I fell asleep listening to the cricket’s chirp as I dosed off to sleep. The morning sun shimmered over the horizon, awaking the land and everything in it. My eyes slowly fluttered open taking time to adjust to the abnormally bright sun shining down on me. I sat up on my 'bed' and stretched my arms up high above my head. After spending 12 hours trying to reconnect with nature, nothing stirred within my soul. My wolf remained where she was secretly hiding somewhere deep inside my head. I was disappointed that it didn't help at all, but I do know that once Jake and I fully connect again she'll return.
