"Don't get the wrong idea, I was just talking to Max about work," Liliana chased after him quickly, trying to explain.
Wilson shot Max a cold glance and grabbed Liliana's hand, pulling her away.
"Wrong idea about what?" Wilson's fingers played with her palm as he held her hand tight.
"Really, there's nothing between me and Max. We're just coworkers," Liliana said, looking up at him with her big, innocent eyes, trying to make him believe her.
Wilson's expression stayed frosty. "Then stay away from him. Don't meet alone anymore."
"But we work at the same place... it's kinda hard to avoid each other completely," Liliana muttered, mouthing her displeasure.
Max hadn't even done anything wrong—he'd only been looking out for her career. Cutting him off like that didn't feel fair. She rolled her eyes in her mind.
"I don't like it," Wilson cut her off firmly.
He came to a stop and stared at her, eyes narrowing slightly. There was something dangerous but also charming about the way he looked at
