The moment Darren's phone lit up, the glass slipped from his fingers and shattered against the floor.
On his Instagram feed, Ned posted a photo of two hands tightly intertwined, with a caption that read, "From now on, it's just the two of us."
In the comment section, Kayla replied with a simple heart emoji.
Within minutes, the comment section flooded with congratulations.
Darren stared at the photo until his screen dimmed to black. In the mirror, his eyes were bloodshot, and his tie hung loosely around his neck.
