Scarlett chuckled as she spoke, "That's true. Do you see that river? When I was a toddler, the village kids used to push me in there. If not for my tough body, I probably would've drowned.
She laughed and crouched by the river to dip her fingers in the water. "Luckily, I was clever enough to learn how to paddle like a dog."
"It still feels the same as before. Do you want to cool off a bit? It's refreshing!"
As she spoke, she took off her shoes and rolled up her pants to wade into the river.
She was like a lively nymph, her graceful figure slipping into the clear waters. However, there was a quiet resilience in the slender lines of her body as well.
Xavier watched her with an unreadable expression on his face.
"Xavier, there's a fish!" Scarlett exclaimed as she rushed over to the rocks.
With more young people moving to the city, barely anyone fished in the river, leaving the population to thrive.
