I put my thoughts together and got up to open the door.
"Who could that be?" I muttered.
My legs felt oddly weak as I made my way to the door, the magical exertion having taken more out of me than I'd expected.
I pulled the door open to find Alpha Keith's towering figure filling the doorframe.
His piercing eyes scanned my face, noting the beads of cold sweat on my forehead and my obvious exhaustion.
"Are you alright?" he asked, his voice rough with concern. "I heard you cry out."
I froze, suddenly remembering the moment when that protective force had violently ejected me from Winnie's memories. Had I actually screamed aloud?
"I'm fine," I said, shaking my head slightly. The last thing I needed was Alpha Keith questioning my activities.
