The old beggar wept bitterly. Though much time had passed, the experience of being hunted was dreadful. He had suffered so much, but now, all of his defenses crumbled after hearing that Adrian was on his side.
"I can finally die without regrets now, my friend!" the beggar cried.
"Why didn't you return to Navia? I'm sure an expert such as yourself would be highly sought after there," Marissa asked curiously.
"I'm too embarrassed to return. I shouldn't have believed in others so easily. Instead, I should've killed that liar a long time ago."
Claude was surprised. Indeed, Debonaire was a prosperous place, attracting many with its fame and making them believe it was a land of treasures.
"Come to my place, sir. I'll beat up anyone who dares disrespect you," Claude urged.
"You're unfit to be my apprentice!" the old beggar retorted angrily, upset about his stolen formula, for which he received not even a word of thanks.
