Jaxson emerged, his gaze sweeping sternly across his surroundings. "Let's go in.” He sighed. All traces of bloodstains in the hall had been meticulously removed. Aside from the knife marks, it was hard to believe a fierce battle had occurred there. Zector descended the stairs slowly. Spotting Jaxson, he offered a polite smile and said, "Jaxson, Mr. Adrian is waiting for you upstairs." Taking a deep breath, Jaxson asked, "Zector, are Daim and his soldiers still alive?" Zector nodded toward a nearby Dark Knight and replied, "We left them alive, but many succumbed to their injuries." The Dark Knight approached a curtain and yanked it aside. Swish! Jaxson turned his head and gasped, feeling a chill run down his spine. Even his two personal guards beside him were visibly horrified, their eyes fixed accusingly on Zector. Behind the curtain lay a heap of hundreds of unconscious soldiers, blood dripping and pooling on the floor. "If they hadn't been misled, they'd be dead by now. You
