#Chapter 214: The Dark
Ella’s POV
Alexander stared at the talisman with a furrowed brow. It buzzed faintly when I held it near his chest, where the curse had coagulated around his lungs, but it was otherwise still and silent.
“Are you sure?” he asked quietly.
“Yes. I’m positive.” I pressed the talisman into his palm and closed his fingers around it, glancing around to make sure we weren’t being watched. “Go see it for yourself, if you don’t believe me. I swore I felt it vibrating when Gabriel walked past me.”
Alexander hesitated for a moment, but then nodded. “Wait here. I’ll be back.” Without another word, he turned on his heel and walked back in the direction of where Gabriel was being held. I heard distant voices, then the sound of a cell door creaking open. There was a brief silence.
A few minutes later, Alexander returned. “We shouldn’t talk here; people will wonder why I’m talking to an Omega in the cells. Come speak with me in my office as soon as you can,” he said.
