#Chapter 243: Witch
Ella’s POV
“Looks like we’ve got a witch on our hands,” I hissed as the floorboards began to tremble under our feet. Liam rushed over, peering out the window beside me, and cursed under his breath.
“You distract her,” he said. “I’ll try to sneak up on her.”
I shot my friend a disbelieving look. “You’re not actually planning on capturing a witch, are you?” I asked.
The look Liam gave me was answer enough. Before I could stop him, he had slipped out the back door of the house. I cursed and turned back around, clutching a nearby pillar for support. The house was shaking around me, dust and debris falling from the ceiling—given the state of the house, it would only be a matter of time before it came down if this kept going on.
Gritting my teeth, I burst out into the sunlight and approached the witch. She backed away, continuing to mutter under her breath—but now turned her ire directly on me instead. The house stopped quaking, and a moment later, I felt a sudd
