Lucien’s giggles filled the room, clear and bright as if he had simply woken from his nap.
Dr. Evelyn gasped and rushed forward, dropping to her knees beside my wheelchair. I didn’t protest as she began tugging at one of the bandages on Lucien’s arm—I was too frozen in shock at the sudden change in my son’s health.

“I can’t believe it,” Dr. Evelyn breathed, moving aside so Alexander could get a better look. “His wounds are starting to heal!”
Alexander and I crowded in to take a look at Lucien’s arm. My breath caught as I physically watched the skin slowly knit together in the way an adult’s might when their wolf was lending its full strength to the healing process. I gripped Alexander’s arm with my free hand
