Chapter 14
The family doctor arrived in a hurry, medical kit in hand. Felix, knowing I might feel embarrassed, had thoughtfully called in a female physician.
She gently lifted my nightgown and examined the area carefully.
"It's just some bruising."
After a moment, she added, "Apply this ointment twice a day. Rub it on lightly with your fingers to help the blood clot disperse faster."
She handed me two small tubes of cream, flashing me a warm smile.
I nodded, feeling a little guilty for making the medical team come all the way out so late at night.
After seeing the doctors out, Felix returned just as I was fumbling awkwardly with a makeup mirror, trying to apply the cream myself.
Without a word, he took the ointment from my hand and cleared his throat. "Lie down."
Startled, I tightened my grip on the tubes.
"I'll do it myself," I said quickly, shaking my head.
Felix didn't argue. He simply reached out and pinched a pressure point at the back of my neck with practiced eased.
