Every time Helen saw Felix, it was always "Felix Bear, this" and "Felix Bear, that". Given how many men chased after her, that sweet act clearly worked like magic.
But to my surprise, the moment Felix heard that nickname, he stiffened slightly and pulled his arm out of my grasp.
"Hey, babe, can we make a deal? Maybe you shouldn't call me that anymore."
"Why not?" I asked, genuinely confused.
If Helen could call him that, why couldn't I?
"Because… I'd rather hear you call me something else."
I looked up, only to find Felix's face lit up with a teasing smile. I was momentarily caught off guard and asked, "What do you mean?"
His smile grew wider, his eyes sparkling with mischief.
In a flash, it all made sense. I shot him an incredulous look and snapped, "Pervert," before brushing past him and walking away.
My dark hair cascaded down my shoulders, hiding the flush that had spread to my ears.
I understood exactly what Felix meant, but I just couldn't bring myself to say it.
