Chapter 429
The white sports car's engine blared as it sped off in the rain.
Only Clark and Jenna were left in front of the Blake family mansion.
Jenna held an umbrella and shielded Clark from some of the rain.
"Why don't we go inside, Clark? It's not worth catching a cold over this," she said carefully.
"She said everything happened because of me. What do you think?"
Her heart fell. She looked at him quizzically and said, "What does Roy's death have anything to do with you? He has no one to blame but himself for his horrible luck. You don't see things like that happening to anyone else, do you?"
"I was the one who broke his leg," he murmured. He couldn't recall the incident no matter how hard he tried.
Suddenly, an image of the hospital played in his head.
"Hold him down."
"Yes, sir."
A man let out a pained scream before falling silent as though he was dead. Someone next to him splashed cold water on him to wake him up.
"Continue."
