“How was your condition?” Mr. Moris asked me.
“I’m fine,” I replied before swallowing hard.
“Liar.” He snapped after observing me. “You endangered everyone by performing a healing ritual on a human. On top of that, you sacrificed your own health. Have you ever listened to anyone?” He grumbled as he sat next to Harlow.
I closed my eyes, holding back my patience with my lips pressed inward. “I’m sorry. I could only think of that way to save her,” I whispered, hiding my guilt.
“You chose to save one stranger instead of saving yourself and many others,” he scowled.
“Every life matters. Besides, there’s no real risk of endangering others, and Harlow could hold on to my energy. My voice remained firm in my choice.
“Anyway,” Mr. Moris swung his hand, cutting me off as if he was no longer interested in discussing my moral choices. “Sit down and stuff yourself with some food.”
