Natalie abruptly turned them around.
"Let's avoid that way. It's bad luck."
Jolene noticed the flash of disdain in Natalie's eyes and asked, "What's wrong?"
Natalie sighed. "It's about my brother's accident. You don't know this, Jolene, but back then…"
She trailed off as a man approached them from the opposite direction.
He was impeccably dressed in a suit and leather shoes, presenting himself as a disciplined and well-mannered man. He seemed more serious than Steven, but not with the kind of coldness that ran deep into the bones.
Natalie scoffed. "Can't seem to avoid running into their family."
The man noticed them and hesitated before walking closer. Natalie immediately tensed up, her eyes narrowing with caution.
"How is your brother doing?" Samuel Linfield asked, his voice calm and measured.
His features were refined, and his expression was cool. There was something familiar about him, though Jolene couldn't quite place it.
"We don't need your concern!" Natalie snapped.
