Sarah, who had been disdained by many, was currently enjoying a barbecue in front of the food stall.
"Another hundred quids or so, can't you be a bit more frugal?" Pete chided, munching on a skewer.
"Could eating make us go broke?"
"We're on the verge of being so poor that we'll have to eat dirt! You know Samuel's about due to pay the rent, right? He pays one year up front, a whopping thirty thousand!"
"Oh," Sarah responded indifferently, seemingly unfazed by the situation.
"I've had it with your nonsense!" Pete picked up the last chicken wing on the plate, hesitated, and then put it back down for Sarah to eat. "Never mind, I'll just go work at the place my dad set up for me tomorrow. At least Samuel's rent could provide us with a bit of salary. We can lift a bit, and borrow some more from my dad, that should be enough."
