Scott drove the whole way while Finlay and Analise sat in the backseat. Throughout the ride, he held tightly onto her hand.
"What's wrong?" She could sense that something was wrong with Finlay.
"It's nothing." He plastered on a smile.
"Didn't Finlay tell you about it?" Scott decided to speak up after wrestling with himself a little.
"What is it?" Analise was puzzled.
"His parents weren't kind to him." Scott sighed.
She turned around and glanced at Finlay, but she didn't ask him about it. Instead of pressing him and opening up old wounds, maybe there would come a day when he would reveal his past to her.
Analise pulled Finlay into her arms and gave him a squeeze. "Do you still want to go there? We'll follow your lead."
"Yeah. They've been dead a long time anyway, and I'm just there to pay them respect at their tombstone.
"At the end of the day, I'm still their son," Finlay responded softly, seizing the moment and burying his head into her neck.
