"This doesn't really prove anything." Victoria stayed calm under the officer's questioning.
She hadn't done what they accused her of, so there was no reason for her to feel guilty.
"If you ask me, what you should really be focusing on is where that video came from and who posted it online. It's pretty obvious they had an agenda." Victoria pushed back, her tone calm but firm.
The two officers looked at each other, unsure what to say next.
"Are we done here? If there's nothing else, I'd like to leave."
Since they didn't have any solid evidence against her, there was no reason to hold her.
"Of course, you're free to go for now. As for your concerns, we'll be launching a full investigation into those leads," one of the cops replied, polite yet non-committal.
As Victoria stepped out of the room, Theodore was already waiting in the hallway, his whole aura heavy and dark.
The moment the officers exited, it felt like the air turned a few degrees colder.
