"I'm not trying to trouble you. I just want to leave my luggage here for a bit. I'll figure something out soon."
"Figure out what? You think someone's gonna help you find a place now?"
Henry frowned at her, lips pressed into a tight line as he stared at Victoria, clearly unconvinced.
If he didn't step in, she'd end up spending the entire New Year stuck here.
"I'm telling you, if you don't come with me today, then I'm not going either. I'll just camp out here with you."
He casually dragged over a stool and plopped down, clearly ready to wait her out.
Victoria looked at him awkwardly, not sure what to say anymore. After a beat, she gave a tiny nod.
"Alright, I'll go with you."
Since they'd met, Henry had always looked out for her, helping her again and again. She didn't take it for granted—it was something she planned to repay someday.
Just not by forcing herself into his life.
She followed Henry to a villa. Standing by the front door, she hesitated, not stepping inside immediately.
