Prescott Ellington had never realized just how excruciating twenty minutes could feel.
That reckless woman really treated his words like air. She actually left him baking under the blazing sun for over twenty minutes!
The sound of a nearby ambulance only added fuel to his irritation.
His face darkened, and finally, he couldn’t hold back anymore—he decided to go straight to the Harrington house.
But as he opened the car door, he froze. Standing right outside was a tiny figure that caught him completely off guard.
"What are you doing here?" he asked, frowning.
Right beside the car, Lottie stared up at him with big round eyes, blinking curiously. Her expression was innocent and completely focused.
Her cheeks were flushed red from the heat, and tiny beads of sweat shimmered on her forehead. Who knew how long she’d been in the sun?
Prescott raised an eyebrow, "Where’s your mom?"
His voice sounded a bit stiff. And honestly, this was the first time he’d ever been alone with a two-year-old.
