Nighttime.
The two of them lay on the bed without saying a word, Lottie between them, and the whole room just felt off.
Only a dim bedside lamp was on, casting a faint light. In the quiet, their breathing was the only sound. Neither Prescott Ellington nor Camila Harrington could fall asleep.
After three years, sharing a bed again came with obvious tension—mostly from Camila. She couldn’t pretend like everything was fine. The old closeness just wasn’t there anymore.
