Chapter 345
“Sir, there's a skewer stand up ahead. Should I stop?” The driver slowed down, his voice filled with hesitation.
Honestly, you couldn’t blame him. The roadside stand in front looked super rough and sketchy—definitely not the kind of place someone like Prescott Ellington, who pretty much lives at the top of the social food chain, would normally show up at.
Barbecue in Meridia was pretty common, easy to find anywhere. But it wasn’t like the ones back in Elaris. Here they usually grilled big chunks of meat, not neat little skewers. But Lottie had been super clear—she wanted the authentic skewer-style street BBQ. So Prescott had the driver circle all over Sunmere, trying to find something that even remotely felt like the stuff back home.
“Pull over,” Prescott said coolly, barely glancing at the driver before turning to his daughter. “Lottie, want to get out and eat, or should we have them pack it to-go and eat in the car?”
“Hmm, let’s get out! It only tastes yummy if we eat at the stand!”
